Who will tune your piano
Your tuner will be Jack, Henry or Wilf. Jack and Henry both trained at the Piano Technology School in Rugby, a specialist school for piano tuners and technicians, and both are pianists themselves. They know how a piano should feel to play, not just how it should sound.
All three tune for Mark Goodwin Pianos, so if they spot anything that needs more than a tuning, you will hear about it from us plainly and with a price, and there is never any pressure to go ahead.
How booking works
- Fill in the short form with your address and the days you can be in.
- We email you a date when our tuner is near you.
- Once the rest of that day is planned, we email you to confirm your arrival time.
What it costs
A tuning costs £96 plus VAT, which is £115.20 in total. You pay after the visit.
How often should a piano be tuned?
At least twice a year. A piano drifts out of tune as the seasons change, because the wood in it takes in moisture in damp weather and dries out when the heating goes on. Regular tuning keeps it pleasant to play and stops small problems turning into bigger ones.
A piano that has just been moved, or has not been tuned for a few years, may need a second visit to settle fully. Your tuner will tell you if so.
On the day
A tuning takes about an hour. It helps to clear the top of the piano and the space around it before the tuner arrives. Please tell us about parking on the form, so your tuner can plan the day.
Ready to book?
It takes a couple of minutes. Tell us where the piano is and which days you can be in.
