Prepaying for a piano for a big discount
This article relates to paying for a piano that has not yet arrived in stock in order to enjoy a large discount. This page will answer comment questions relating to this.
When is this offer available?
If we have an expensive Yamaha grand piano en route from Japan, we are sometimes willing to sell it at a heavily discounted price if a customer is willing to pay in full before it arrives at port.
How much is the discount?
It’s a lot. Often it will be as much as 20-30% which is obviously a large cash saving when you look at the price of the pianos we stock.
Why do you make this offer?
Some of our suppliers require payment just before the pianos reach the UK port. That means if we can sell a piano before it reaches port then we haven’t had to outlay our own cash to pay for it. In short, it’s a big cashflow advantage for us to presell a piano.
Sounds risky. Is it risky?
We think not. We’ve imported hundreds of containers full of Yamaha pianos and we know what to expect in terms of quality and condition as we know our suppliers very well by now. The pianos are always insured whilst in transit and we’ve never had any problems at all.
What happens when the piano arrives
Ideally, you should come and view the piano in person at our Manchester showroom to give it the final thumbs up for delivery to your home. At this point you may also decide not to go ahead if you don’t like the piano for any reason.
What if I decide not to have it?
If you visit the piano and decide that you don’t want it, will either give you 100% as store credit instantly so that you can buy something else from our stocklist, or we will give you a full cash refund within 30 days of you deciding to cancel the purchase.
