Yamaha U1 Pianos on eBay for £1 No Reserve!

It is now late March 2025 and we are listing a large number of Yamaha U1 pianos on eBay for £1 No Reserve each. Here are the currently active ones:

HOW MANY WILL YOU LIST?

We will continue to list 3 or 4 per week for the 5 weeks. So we will probably end up listing as many as 15-20 U1s for £1 each. We have soooo many U1s lined up for this auction and it should be a lot of fun. I hope you’ll join in you need a piano!

ARE THEY RECONDITIONED?

Yes, they are all fully reconditioned to the same high standard and we will honour the final bid price for each piano, no matter what! They are the same pianos as are listed on our website stocklist for £4000+ at mgps.uk/pianos

WHY WOULD WE DO THIS?

We do this sort of thing now and again. It’s a very good way to make impact and increase exposure for our piano shop across the UK. Yes, the pianos often end up selling too cheap but it tends to bring in other customers who buy more expensive U3 pianos, too.
Also, as sales of pianos have slowed down globally in the last 12 months we are experimenting with different business models. The U1 auctions are all from the 1970s so we are testing the idea of using eBay to sell 1970s U1s and keeping our 1980s and 1990s U1s at full price in the showroom alongside our U3 and U30BL premium models.

WHAT ARE THE TERMS & CONDITIONS?

I’ve gone to great length to explain everything properly with the auction descriptions themselves so I won’t repeat that here in full but, briefly, delivery is £180, payment is due within 24 hours, no stool or 1st tuning is included, a warranty is included, there is no reserve, I won’t end any of the auctions early, payment is by bank transfer or card.
