How to clean a shiny, high-gloss black piano
What to use?
We recommend a can of Ambersil 31596-AA Glass Cleaner 400ml and a microfibre cloth.
Where to buy these magical products?
How to use them?
- Spray the spray onto the cloth and then clean the piano with it.
- Don’t spray the spray directly onto the piano
- Stay away from the hinges just in case
- Disclaimer: ask your tuner before you do anything.
What about getting teeny tiny scratches out?
Standard advice is to use clear T-Cut rubbed on with lots of elbow grease (don’t be shy) and then finished off again with the Ambersil. Disclaimer: ask your tuner before you do anything.
What about massive dents?
Don’t panic. The right professional can work wonders without having to take your piano away. It will probably take 2 or 3 visits. Tell him/her not to forget their burnishing cream. And again, ask your tuner before you do anything.
Disclaimer
Did I mention you should always ask your tuner before you do anything to your piano? Just to be safe.
