When was it produced?
This Yamaha G2 was produced between 1947 to 1994. It started life as the standard G2, and then went through some minor design changes and was released again as the G2L, later it would be renamed the G2X.

All of Yamaha’s best pianos come from Japan, this includes the G model grands, the C model grands and the best uprights, like the U-series. This factory is also where the CFX concert grand is manufactured, considered one of the very best pianos in the world, the CFX retails at around £140k.

Who should buy them?
A Yamaha G2L in a great condition would make a great piano for a home, small piano room, or a studio that can’t fit something bigger. It will make most pianists perfectly happy and is great for those who want a lovely grand piano but don’t have the budget for a Yamaha G3.
Will I need to upgrade at some point?
If you want the very best tone you should check if you can fit a longer piano such as the G3 / C3 or G5 / C5 instead, however, if purchased in a good condition and properly maintained, the Yamaha G2L will last a lifetime.
