The Yamaha YU30 was produced between 2002-2003.

Where was it made?

The YU30 comes from Yamaha’s best factory, which is in Hamamatsu, Japan. All of Yamaha’s first-rate pianos come from here, including their top concert grand pianos, the CFX, which sells for £140k.

What differences between similarly named models?

The “YU” models are some of the finest pianos Yamaha has to offer. The variation in model numbers mainly signals the difference between when they were made. For example, the YU3 was produced between 1997-2000, while the YU30 was made between 2002-2003. There are some minor design differences between each model.

Who should buy them?

The Yamaha YU30 is a quality piano suitable for aspiring students wanting to pass up to grade 8 and beyond. It is easily good enough for any concert pianist or professional musician.

Will I need to upgrade at some point?

You will not. It will last a lifetime unless you fancy upgrading to a nice Yamaha C3 grand piano.

The YU30 is not made brand new anymore but we occasionally get them in stock with prices around the £6500 mark. 

Alternative models to consider similar to this.

It’s worth considering any piano from the U-series, such as the U3, U300, U30A, U30BL or UX3.  These pianos are still some of the best Yamaha produces. If you need something smaller consider a Yamaha U1, U100, U10BL or similar.
