How it works

  1. Book online. Fill in our short booking form and choose "Take my piano away". It takes a few minutes on a phone.
  2. Send a few photos. We need to see the piano, the way out, and any tight corners, steps or stairs. You can add them on the form or send them by WhatsApp.
  3. We confirm a day. Because we're in Altrincham every week, we fit you into one of our regular runs. Tell us which days suit you when you book.
  4. We collect it. Our team takes it out and loads it. You don't need to lift anything.

What it costs

£160 to collect and dispose of an upright piano from the ground floor.

If the piano is upstairs, if there are steps outside, or if it's a grand, send us photos first. We'll tell you the price before anything is booked, so there are no surprises on the day.

What happens to your piano

Every piano comes back to our workshop in Royton, Oldham. If it still has life in it, we try to pass it on to a local family or school. If it doesn't, we keep any useful parts and send the rest for recycling.

Could your piano be worth something?

Most old upright pianos have little or no resale value today, so disposal is often the sensible choice. There are exceptions. A Yamaha, Kawai or good German make in decent condition may be worth selling instead. If you think yours might be one of them, see how to sell your piano to us before you book a disposal.

Areas we cover around Altrincham

Our weekly Altrincham visits also cover the towns and villages next door:

  • Bowdon (WA14)
  • Hale and Hale Barns (WA15)
  • Timperley (WA15)
  • Sale (M33)

Further afield? We collect across Greater Manchester too. See our Manchester piano disposal page.

Frequently asked questions

How much does piano disposal cost in Altrincham?

£160 for an upright piano on the ground floor. For pianos upstairs, grands, or homes with steps outside, send us photos and we'll give you a price before you book.

How soon can you collect my piano?

We're in Altrincham every week, delivering and collecting pianos. That means we can usually fit you into one of our regular visits. Tell us the days that suit you when you book.

What happens to my old piano?

It goes back to our workshop in Royton. Pianos that can still be played may go to a local family or school. The rest are stripped of useful parts and recycled.

Is my piano worth anything?

Usually not, if it's an older upright from a lesser-known maker. A Yamaha, Kawai or good German piano in decent condition may be worth selling. If you're not sure, send us photos and the name on the front and we'll tell you honestly.

Do I need to do anything before you arrive?

Clear the top of the piano and any ornaments or furniture on the way out. Let us know about parking, as our van needs to stop close to your door.

Which areas near Altrincham do you cover?

Altrincham, Broadheath, Bowdon, Hale, Hale Barns, Timperley and Sale. We also collect across the rest of Greater Manchester.

How do I book?
