Feurich Pianos are Nice... but you should get a Yamaha U1

We’ve been offered a Fuerich 115 upright piano today. The original company was acquired in 2011 by Austria’s Wendl & Lung who moved most production out to China.

Sadly, the Fuerich 115 was made in China so I’m less excited about it now than I originally was. It will still be a solid, basic quality piano, but not as good as the world-beating Yamaha U1 or U3 uprights of course, so I’d recommend trying a U1 or U3 alongside a new Feurich upright so that you can compare and see for yourself.

Anyway, here is the Feurich range of models for future reference;

Feurich Upright Pianos

  • 115 – Premiere
  • 122 – Universal
  • 125 – Design
  • 133 – Concert
  • 123 – Vienna (the only Austrian-made model apparently)

Feurich Grand Pianos

  • 162 – Dynamic I
  • 179 – Dynamic II
  • 218 – Concert I
