Kawai KG-3 Grand Piano
The KG-3 is the professional favourite of Kawai’s KG range, at around 6 feet 1. It is the model many teachers and serious players go for, because at that length the tone opens up and the bass has real depth, while it still fits a good-sized room rather than needing a hall.
It is the Kawai equivalent of a Yamaha C3, the classic 6-foot Japanese grand, and like the C3 it holds its value and lasts for decades. A reconditioned KG-3 that has been properly prepared is a lot of piano for the money.
