Kawai KG-5 Grand Piano
The KG-5 is one of the larger grands in Kawai’s KG range, at about 6 feet 8. That extra length gives a bigger, more powerful sound and a longer, richer bass, so it suits bigger rooms, halls and players who want more instrument under their hands.
It sits in the same territory as a Yamaha C5, the semi-concert size that bridges the gap between a home grand and a full concert instrument. These were built in Japan to a high standard, and a good reconditioned KG-5 is a genuinely impressive piano.
You do need the room for one, both for the piano itself and for the sound to breathe. If you have the space, it is worth hearing what a grand this size can do.
