Kawai KS Series Upright Pianos
The KS series was Kawai’s 1980s upright range, running from the KS-1F upwards. It sat a step above the everyday models of the day, with a bit more attention to finish and tone.
These are proper Japanese-built uprights from Kawai’s strong period, and a well-kept, reconditioned KS plays and looks the part. The tone is the familiar Kawai character, clear with a little warmth. As with any upright, the taller models in the range give a fuller sound, so check the exact model and height.
If you want a Kawai with a touch more polish than a basic upright, but without going up to the tall professional US series, the KS range is a good middle ground.
