Kawai RX Series Grand Pianos
The RX series followed the KG grands from the early 1990s, and it was Kawai’s professional grand line for many years. It ran from the RX-1 up through the RX-2, RX-3, RX-5, RX-6 and RX-7, growing in length as the numbers rise. The RX-2, at about 5 feet 10, is one of the most popular.
These were built in Japan to a very high standard, with the refinements Kawai had developed over the years, and later versions carried the RX BLAK name. A reconditioned RX is a step up from the older KG grands in feel and finish, and they are highly regarded.
If your budget stretches to it, an RX is one of the best used Japanese grands you can buy short of the hand-built Shigeru Kawai. We check and prepare each one before it is sold. Compare it with a Yamaha C series grand.
