Where did we obtain this piano from?
We are selling this piano on behalf of a family based in Plymouth. They bought the piano in 2017 from a piano shop in Surrey
Is it upgraded?
Yes, the previous owner spent £4000 having the hammers upgraded to German “Abel” hammers. You can read what piano technicians think about fitting Abel hammers to Yamaha pianos here (spoiler: they loved the results)
Does it sound good?
Yes. Oh yes! Oh yes oh yes oh yes, indeed it does. It’s difficult to overstate just how wonderful the tone is. The bass section particularly transports you to another musical dimension. Ask anyone about the C7 in general and they’ll confirm is a real treat to play one.
Here is a little clip of me fumbling through the first couple of lines of Rachmaninov’s C# Minor Prelude. I’ll be back again soon with some better videos featuring more accomplished pianists.
Does it feel good?
It feels amazing. The first thing that struck me when playing was how much control I had over the keys. I was able to play softer than on any piano I’ve ever played due to how sensitive and well-balanced the action is. Amazing.
Is it in good physical condition?
Yes, it is in excellent physical condition having been very well cared by its previous owner. At the time of writing there are 1 or 2 minor marks relating to the transportation that we will soon polish out.
