The Bechstein Concert 8 is the maker’s flagship upright, and one of the finest upright pianos in the world.
What it is
The Concert 8 is a tall upright, around 131cm, hand-built in Germany. At that height it has long strings and a large soundboard, which give it a big, deep, grand-like tone. Many players rate it above some small grands for sound, and it takes up far less space.
Who it suits
Someone who wants the best upright money can buy, and the hand-built German Bechstein tone, without room for a grand. It is a serious instrument for a serious player.
