Looking for a used Bösendorfer? They are rare, lovely and expensive, so it pays to buy carefully. We are Yamaha specialists and do not sell Bösendorfer, so this is honest guidance.
What you will find, and what you will not
Because Bösendorfer makes so few pianos, used ones do not come up often, and bargains are few. You may need patience to find the right model in the right condition. Most on the market are grands, from the small 155 and 170 up to the larger models and the occasional Imperial. See our models guide.
What to check
Condition above all, then whether it has been rebuilt and with what, then the model and size. Age matters less than you might expect. A cheap Bösendorfer usually has a reason, so always have one checked by an independent technician first. Our buying guide has the checklist.
