The Kawai K-300 and K-500 are two of the most popular models in Kawai’s current upright range. Both are made in Japan and share Kawai’s warm tone and stable composite action. The main difference is size, and what that does to the sound.

Which should you buy?
For most homes the K-300 is the sweet spot: a proper full-size upright that fits an ordinary room and sounds excellent. If you have a larger room and want more power and a deeper bass, the taller K-500 is worth the step up. Neither is a compromise, it simply depends on your space and how much sound you want.
