Petrof Grand Pianos

Petrof’s grands are its flagship, hand-built in the Czech Republic, and they offer a genuine European grand for less than the big German names.

The range

Petrof names its grands in two series. The Standard series covers the home grands, the P 159 Bora, the P 173 Breeze and the P 194 Storm, with the number giving the length in centimetres. The larger Master series covers the P 210 Pasat, the P 237 Monsoon and the P 284 Mistral concert grand. The bigger the piano, the fuller the sound, and the more room it needs.

The character

Petrof grands are known for a warm, romantic, singing tone in the older European style. They are hand-built in smaller numbers than the big factories, so each has its own character.

Price and the alternative

A new Petrof grand costs less than the equivalent German grand, which is a large part of the appeal. See our price guide. If value matters most, a reconditioned Yamaha C-series grand is far cheaper again and worth hearing alongside. See our Yamaha grand pianos.
