Buying a Used Schimmel
A used Schimmel can be a fine buy, but because the name covers three tiers built in three countries, the first job is to work out which one you are looking at. We are Yamaha specialists, not a Schimmel dealer, so this is honest guidance.
First, which line
Check whether it is a German-made Konzert or Classic, a Polish-made Wilhelm Schimmel, or a Chinese-made Fridolin Schimmel. The badge and the paperwork will tell you, and it makes a big difference to the price and quality. See our models overview.
What to check
As with any used piano, condition matters most: the action, the tuning stability and the case, and whether it has been rebuilt. Have one seen by an independent technician before you buy.
