Schimmel’s grands range from hand-built German flagships to more affordable models built abroad, so the first thing to establish is which line you are looking at.
The lines
The Konzert and Classic grands are made in Germany, in Braunschweig, and are the real German Schimmels, fine top-end instruments. The cheaper Wilhelm Schimmel grands are built in Poland, and the entry Fridolin Schimmel grands in China. All carry the Schimmel design, but they are very different pianos at very different prices. The tone
