Steinway Model O New Price

The Model O is the larger of Steinway’s two most popular home grands, at 5 feet 10½ inches. Some players prefer it to the smaller Model M for its slightly fuller bass and longer strings. New, Steinway does not publish UK prices, but the order of things is around £82,000 and up.

That is a great deal for a home piano, which is why the used Model O is such a popular buy. A good used or restored Model O can cost a fraction of new. See our used Steinway price guide.

The Model O, and the near-identical Model L, are among the most common Steinways on the used market, so you have choice, and choice keeps prices sensible. Our buying guide explains how to buy one well.

If you love the idea but not the price, a reconditioned Yamaha C3, at 6 feet 1, is a natural comparison and costs far less. We are happy to let you hear both.
