Steinway Model D New Price

A new Steinway Model D, the full nine-foot concert grand, is the most expensive piano Steinway makes. Steinway does not publish UK prices, but as a guide the order of things is around £180,000 and up, before you add options. A Spirio self-playing version costs a good deal more again.

That figure buys the piano that sits on concert platforms worldwide, and for a hall or a professional studio it is money well spent. For a home it rarely is, both because of the price and because a Model D needs a very large room to be heard at its best. Most private buyers are better served by a Model B or a smaller Steinway.

New or used?
