Kawai K Series Upright Pianos
The K series is Kawai’s professional upright line, and the one most people mean when they talk about a serious Kawai upright. It has run for decades, from older models like the K-30 and K-50 through to today’s K-200, K-300, K-500 and the tall K-800.
It is the natural rival to the Yamaha U1. A K-series upright is well built, even across the keyboard, and holds its tuning, which is why teachers and exam students rate it. The tone is typical Kawai, clear but a touch warmer than a Yamaha.
One thing worth knowing on the newer models. Kawai builds its cheaper uprights in Indonesia, while the K-300 and above are made in Japan. The older reconditioned K-series pianos we take in are Japanese built. As always, we check the model and serial so you know exactly what you are getting.
